Mother's Day Celebrations

May 17, 2013

Our communities across the state celebrated Mother's Day several different ways.  The men at Stone Hearst Seniors prepared and served breakfast for the senior Mothers and took breakfast to the mothers who are home-bound.  Children from the Stone Hearst Afterschool Program made cards and corsages for their mothers.  They served the mothers dinner of chicken spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread which was made by Rose Hudson, a senior from the community.  Afterwards, the mothers and children enjoyed games.  Our Riverwalk community celebrated by serving doughnuts and shared many stories about their children.  The children at Hampton Villages honored their mothers by making vases and writing poems.  They were also honored by a Mother's Day Dinner.  For Mother's Day, Anson Park Seniors hosted a Fashion Show sponsored by Christopher & Banks, while the children at Anson Park Community made portraits of their mothers and had a Mother's Day Spa Party.  Red Oak hosted Muffins for Moms, serving muffins and breakfast with orange juice to celebrate.
