NewLife’s NewLeader

July 25, 2013

NewLife Alliance would like to thank Ronni Hodges for her ten years of service as Founder and Executive Director.  NewLife is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and was started in 2003 with the goal of helping distressed families across Texas access much needed social services and other life skills.  In 2013, our programs are offered to all ages in 12 communities.  Although we're sad to see her retire from the day-to-day environment, Ronni was elected to the Board of Directors and will continue to serve NewLife Alliance with the goal of continuing to reach out to many more needy families.

Clarence E. Shepard was selected by the Board to become the new Executive Director.  Clarence has been with NewLife for nearly two years as our Program Director.  His background includes over 20 years in the non-profit sector with expertise in programming, PR, management and development.  Clarence’s plan for NewLife’s future is to continue to cultivate the principles, values, themes and objectives on which NewLife was founded.  “I want our children and families to look different,” says Mr. Shepard, referring to his desire to help maintain communities of leaders and good stewards who model the social, spiritual and academic enrichment promoted throughout the NewLife system and beyond.  “I was once told that a person’s job is not complete until you name your successor.  I sincerely appreciate Ronni’s belief and trust that I can lead and grow the agency she founded,” adds the agency’s new leader who also acknowledges the vote of confidence and appointment by the NewLife Board of Directors.
