Ready For Work 2013

May 15, 2013

Ready For Work preparations are in full swing as the school year draws to an end.  The teens in our communities around the state are taking instruction on “Workplace Etiquette”, resume’ writing, life skills, and personality tests.  As part of the program, the teens are also required to perform community service.

“Workplace Etiquette” at Anson Park Community included a presentation from Amanda Castleberry, an Admissions Counselor from Texas State Technical College (TSTC).  In addition to fielding questions from the students, she also introduced the students to programs available at TSTC.

For a community service project, the Riverwalk teens helped paint at the Texans for Christ Church.  The teens at Riverwalk and Anson Park Community are currently working on resumes.  The personality test allowed students at The Villages of Huntsville to discover what types of jobs they might like, based on their answers.  These students also took a job skills test to help them choose jobs in which they would be interested.
