Busy As a Bee

October 26, 2012

The residents at our Senior Communities maintain an active lifestyle.  When they’re not attending Bible Studies, educational programs, or participating in games such as BINGO, Bunco, or Farkle, they stay fit with Zumba, aerobics, and stretching classes.  Planning and helping with other community projects is always exciting.

At Anson Park Seniors, the weekly blood pressure & glucose checks, as well as other health and nutrition classes are well attended.  The seniors get time to speak privately with the health care professionals.  “The nurses that come also seem to look forward to being with the residents and take great care of them,”  says Kathie Hewes, Community Coordinator.

The residents of the Senior Villages of Huntsville had the opportunity to register to vote when people from the local county office went door-to-door with Misty Rankin, Community Coordinator.  They were excited to learn that they could sign up to receive a ride to the polls on November 6th.

BINGO is a big hit for the residents of Stone Hearst Seniors.  When Mr. Tommy Kerans from Allegiance Health Care calls the games, he always changes his style.  “He has arrived in his cowboy hat and brought along country CD’s to play during the games,” said Mecheal Faulk, Community Coordinator. “To tie it all together, he calls the games in his John ‘The Duke’ Wayne voice!”
